Detention

Detention is an institution often used against the suspects, and later – the accused, by law enforcement agencies for the duration of the proceedings as a preventive measure. It is usually implemented for three months, but in practice can be extended many times for subsequent three-month periods.
However such a rigorous measure is not justified in every situation, in fact constituting a deprivation of liberty, especially against a person who has not been convicted and therefore benefits from the presumption of innocence. We help to avoid such detention (if possible) or shorten its duration. In such cases time is of the essence, as court meetings are arranged very quickly.
